Internship and Co-op opportunities exist within Great American’s Corporate Headquarters located in downtown Cincinnati.


The intern program provides college students the opportunity to learn about the insurance industry, as well as experience Great American’s corporate culture that values integrity, leadership, customer focus and accountability.


Our Accident and Health (pomi) team is looking for a year-round intern to work 15-20 hours per week during the school year and up to 40 hours per week during the summer.


  • Assist in managing the department SharePoint site
  • Enter existing policies into digital platform
  • Managing Correspondence
  • Prepares source data for computer entry by compiling and sorting information.
  • Establishes entry priorities.
  • Processes customer and account source documents by reviewing data for deficiencies.
  • Coordinates and submits responses to insurance departments obtaining necessary information from compliance associates and managers.
  • Maintains current knowledge and record of files, fees, notice requirements, and approval procedures for state filing requirements.
  • May provide support to product personnel including organizing information to speed decision making on the part of the filing associates or managers.
  • Provides policy lookup and communication to various business units.
  • Function as a team player to maintain positive and effective communication and interaction with co-workers.
  • Performs other duties and completes miscellaneous projects as assigned.

  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Intermediate level Microsoft Office skills
  • Proven ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Must have the ability to work at least 15-20 hours per week during business hours
  • Underclassmen are encouraged to apply
  • Risk Management, Finance, or other business-related major preferred
