Production Designer will follow established templates to execute and support any number of design activities from edits through production on both print and digital marketing materials. This can include applying knowledge and concepts across digital and print production, create/edit (fillable) forms, prepress, preflight, color retouching, asset management, quality assurance and graphic design to ensure all projects are on time, accurate and in accordance with GAIG standards. Excellent communication, attention to detail, organized and receptive to feedback, along with a positive team-oriented attitude are a must in this role. Collaborate group.

Responsibilities

  • Under close supervision, produces graphics-design for communication materials. Utilizes current graphic design technology and computer software packages to produce advertisements, sales promotions, employee communications and public relations material for visual communications media.
  • Uses creativity and originality to originate design, art and copy layouts.
    • Imports graphic images and integrates with text.
    • Participates in determining style, size and arrangement of type and illustrations.
    • Assists / supports department staff and learns to provide instructions and / or assemble and prepare final layouts for printer.
    • May operate digital scanner and edit graphic images.
  • Participates in maintaining record keeping systems for the department. Develops working knowledge on information in and data retrieval from these record keeping systems.
  • May assist / support department staff and learn to perform copywriting and editing functions for internal publications and external publications.
  • May assist / support department staff and learn to coordinate appropriate review and approval from management, legal and / or stakeholders. Builds working knowledge of regulations / legal requirements.
  • Builds working knowledge of current trends and best practices in layout principles, aesthetic design concepts and desktop publishing. Builds working knowledge of business units, products and the industry.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: Associate’s Degree or equivalent.
Field of Study: Graphic Design, Fine Art, Commercial Art or a related discipline.
Experience: 1 to 3 years of related experience.
