    The Trucking Division is currently searching for a Senior Business Developer. This person can be based in Chicago, IL, Dallas, TX, or other mid-west locations.  This position will travel and meet our partner agents throughout the country.  The person hired for this position will work from and must be able to travel at least 30-50% of the time, overnight travel.


    •   Develops a productive agency plant/territory, including:
      • Developing a marketing plan for assigned territory
      • Prospecting and managing agency relationships to achieve production and profitability objectives.
      • Acts as a liaison between company and producer in solving problems.
    • Markets and provides strategic training on company products and services to existing and prospective agencies.
    • Responsible for building and maintaining effective business relationships with internal and external customers/coworkers in order to attract and retain profitable business.
    • Responsible for profit-oriented risk selection/rejection and pricing decisions within designated authority on complex to significantly complex multi-line risks.
    • Identifies opportunities for and may spearhead development of new business and/or programs.
    • May have responsibility for performance and coaching of staff and may have a participatory role in decisions regarding talent selection, development, and performance management for direct reports.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.


    • Must have a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3-5 years of related underwriting and marketing experience.
    • Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation and organizational skills necessary to build trusting relationships and enhance service reputation.
    • Prior underwriting experience or captive insurance experience would be a plus
    • Transportation experience would be preferred.
    • Must have strong analytical, decision making, and problem resolution skills.
    • Interest in moving into a supervisory role.
