    Great American Insurance Group is seeking a Senior Analyst, Strategic Partnerships to join the Innovation team. This person will help secure a winning future for Great American by leading the Company’s innovation partner strategy with accountability for the acceleration of planned outcomes aligned to our enterprise innovation strategy. The Senior Analyst is passionate about networking, sourcing and assessing new partnership opportunities. This person will also feel comfortable behind a desk – analyzing and synthesizing technical, industry and market related information from a variety of sources to provide strategic recommendations to solve for opportunities specific to Great American.

     

    The Senior Analyst will have a network of contacts within the financial services industry including the startup community, and will be expected to become a noticeable presence within the insurtech ecosystem. This person will lead due diligence efforts on potential partners to assess fit with Great American’s needs versus alternatives, and will work closely with partner companies to provide optimal chances for success of Great American / partner pilots. The Senior Analyst will be a leader that builds consensus while working through established governance patterns. This person will collaborate extensively with Great American’s business units and finance team, supporting their efforts and leveraging their expertise. This role will report to the VP, Innovation Strategy.

    Responsibilities

    • Establishes innovation partner strategy across insurtech ecosystem including brokers, startups, accelerators, vendors, reinsurers, academics, regulators, etc.
    • Collaborates with business units and functional areas to best represent their interests while connecting across the ecosystem
    • Establishes scanning and scouting capabilities across the ecosystem, filtering for fit
    • Networks and manages target relationships across the funnel
    • Establishes the organizational strategic investment thesis with leadership
    • Determines best approaches to partner with external firms
    • Analyzes trends and is responsible for tactical and strategic recommendations
    • Performs investment due diligence when applicable

    Qualifications

    • Knowledgeable – 5-10 years of experience within financial services, investment banking and/or venture capital
    • Results driven - eager to see output of your work being used and making a difference
    • Accountable and independent - able to succeed in a corporate start-up environment
    • Intellectually curious – always seeking ways to improve work product and your own performance
    • Collaborative - able to work closely together with colleagues to identify opportunities and to develop solutions
