    Procurement is an internal service organization committed to partnering with business units to provide procurement services as well as contract development, negotiation and program management. In addition to achieving cost savings by leveraging the organization’s overall spend, this team’s services include contractual due diligence, risk mitigation and supplier management.​​ We are looking for a Contract Management Specialist to join our AFG Procurement department.

    Responsibilities

    • Reviews, negotiates, and drafts commercial contracts with the organization’s third party suppliers and serves as a liaison between these suppliers and the Corporate Legal groups.
    • The types of contracts this individual will be responsible for reviewing includes, but is not limited to: professional services, software licensing, software maintenance and support, software as a service, confidentiality and non-disclosure, recruitment and contingent worker services, corporate events, and hardware purchasing and leasing.
    • Supports Strategic Sourcing and Program staff in preparing, revising, and verifying complex contract packages.
    • Develops complex contractual language to meet business, regulatory, and legal requirements.
    • Researches and responds to internal and external customers’ inquiries.
    • Participates in the administration of contracts and ensuring fulfilment of contract requirements.
    • Facilitates discussions with suppliers in resolving supplier disputes, which may include but not be limited to licensing, invoicing, and performance related issues.
    • Researches and advises Procurement management team of potential legal risks of contracts.
    • Demonstrates knowledge of and remains current on trending issues related to contract drafting, supplier management, strategic sourcing, and related company policies and legal requirements.
    • Provides ongoing training to other members of the Procurement team on applicable legal and contract related topics.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

     

    Qualifications

    • JD from an accredited law school.
    • Active license to practice law is preferred.
    • At least 6 years of experience with contracts is required.  IT contract experience is preferred.
    • Ability to confidently deal with internal and external customers at all levels of the organization.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
    • Strong customer service skills are required.
