    Great American is looking for an attorney to join our Property & Casualty Group Legal Department in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio.  This position will provide legal advice and counsel on vendor contracting matters to the Company and its subsidiaries.  The successful candidate will be a professional with excellent communication and analytical skills who complements our existing team.  Our legal team is dedicated to providing the best possible legal and regulatory support to Great American.  This position is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer who is looking for a dynamic legal career while maintaining work/life balance.

    Responsibilities

    • Reviews a wide range of contracts, including software licenses, IT services and other vendor agreements.
    • Reviews contracts to ensure they meet corporate guidelines and standards.
    • Negotiates legal terms with vendors and suppliers.
    • Collects and reports contract data.
    • Collaboratively works with other members of the Legal team to achieve optimal results for our business clients.
    • Engages in issue spotting, risk assessment, and problem solving on a daily basis.
    • Partners with other business support groups to assist in educating business on contractual issues.
    • Other tasks as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • A JD from an accredited law school and active license to practice law.
    • At least two years of vendor and service provider contracting experience.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.
    • Common sense, good judgment, and solution-oriented attitude toward legal issues.
