    • Evaluates legal liability and aggressively pursues, negotiates and resolves subrogation collection.
    • Secures additional information / investigation from referring office when an on-site investigation is necessary.
    • Communicates with policyholders, claimants, witnesses, attorneys and underwriters to obtain / provide the necessary information.
    • Maintains and controls assigned subrogation files and diaries.
    • Assigns lawsuits to counsel and oversees case handling:
      • Monitors application of Litigation Management Program.
      • May attend pre-trials, trials and settlement conferences.
      • Puts pleas out for arbitration.
    • May process loss and expense payments. May assign claim numbers and / or initiate manual payments.
    • Maintains expert knowledge of field, third party law, regulations, procedures and case decisions affecting appropriate jurisdictions.
    • Provides technical guidance, assistance, and training to lower level positions.
    • May lead the work of others (mentors, prioritizes, delegates and reviews assignments).
    • Performs other duties as assigned.


    Education: Bachelor’s Degree.
    Field of Study: Liberal Arts, Business or a related discipline.
    Experience: 6 or more years of related experience, including Subrogation litigation and recovery practices / procedures experience.
