The Environmental Division of the Great American Insurance Group provides a comprehensive portfolio of environmental insurance products to a broad array of industries. All products can be customized to address the specific risks and exposures of the client.
The primary responsibility for this position is production underwriting for all environmental lines of business within the Great American Environmental Division. The Division is entrepreneurial, very collaborative, and bottom line results oriented; therefore, successful candidates will share these characteristics.
The individual will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with target retail and wholesale brokers to build a solid flow of business opportunities on a sustainable basis. The underwriting candidates should possess a strong technical underwriting skill set and/ or have the ability to work with a mentor in a team environment to develop the required underwriting skills and approach to the business. The open atmosphere is highly conducive for learning and information sharing. Teamwork, a willingness to learn, and integrity are stressed as critical to success.

Upon successful completion of training, the underwriting candidate has responsibility for risk selection/rejection, pricing, retention, growth and profitability per divisional objectives.
