    Responsibilities

    • Provide extensive support and troubleshooting, installs and upgrades of WebSphere for all Development, Test and Production environments
    • Monitor, troubleshoot, design, implement and maintain VMware infrastructure as well as provide technical guidance to other VMware administrators
    • Manage capacity planning and forecasting, system performance analysis and system tuning
    • Conduct Systems Life Cycle Management through monitoring, measuring, and maintaining Operating Systems, Enterprise Applications and Middleware software
    • Provide specialized technical expertise in researching and resolving complex technology infrastructure problems which may involve coordination of hardware and software vendor support
    • Design, develop, test, and implement new configurations, architectures, and standards
    • Advise department team members on procedures, techniques, and requirements to ensure maximum performance and availability of the company infrastructure. Recommend areas for improvement in both processes and systems
    • Conduct implementations, conversions, and upgrades in a manner consistent with Standard Operating Procedures within company maintenance windows; including change management procedures
    • Provide guidance to customers, third party integration specialists, and/or internal teams, on solutions to increase application availability, redundancy, scalability, and performance
    • Author technical documentation such as systems and data center diagrams
    • Ensure security and operational standards and procedures are maintained in accordance with company compliance requirements
    • Perform risk analysis to identify IT security issues and re-mediating plans. Identify and/or mitigate operational risks where appropriate
    • Assist customers and internal teams to automate processes and incorporate methodologies
    • Provide leadership and guidance when customer application-level downtime issues arise and provide RCA support as requested
    • Show ownership of issues through resolution and maintain customer loyalty by serving customers via phone, tickets,  and email
    • Support in tuning applications and infrastructure
    • Manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.preferably Computer Science or a related discipline
    • Experience of 5 or more years including: VMware, Active Directory, WebSphere, SharePoint, Storage (IBM SVC)
    • Excellent verbal and written communication 
    • Ability to establish & maintain relationships with team members as well as other departments
    • Experience with Middleware - Microsoft, IIS, .Net, Websphere
    • Application support experience
