    Responsibilities

    • Leads requirements gathering sessions with business unit and end user; documents end user requirements for data capture, program functions, data quality, reports and analysis, and training.
    • Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of applicable business solutions and business requirements.
    • Analyzes, identifies and writes detailed description of user requirements, program functions, and tasks required to develop or modify computer programs.
    • Makes recommendations for business process improvements with a thorough understanding of business and technical problems and solutions as they relate to the technology needs. Create and maintain process documentation.
    • Performs complex data verification and debugging during various lifecycles of the project.
    • Strong knowledge of business information data sources and business data rules. Experienced with reporting tools and databases.
    • Provides production support to end users for applications, may requires after-hours support.
    • Recommends system modifications to reduce user problems and/or automate recurring support activities.
    • Develops SQL scripts to update data and/or create ad-hoc reporting
    • Analyze and participate in the design of enhancements and bug fixes for the applications and integrations.
    • Assist in the assessment of vendor solutions and recommendations for use. Experienced with system integrations.
    • May perform as a facilitator to all aspects of the team’s planning and prioritization process. May be responsible for facilitating backlog grooming, sprint planning, retrospectives, daily scrum, and sprint reviews.
    • May perform as Product Owner to define, prioritize and manage product backlog, to analyze identify and document user stories, and provide business and insurance product expertise.
    • May assist with the configuration, design and implementation of operational and system enhancements to ensure production capabilities and system performance are both effective and efficient. 
    • Contributes to test plan creation, testing, debugging and installation support of an application. 
    • Contributes to the development of project plans and timelines.
    • Learn new tools, skills and applications as needed and provide recommendations on how to incorporate as applicable.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline or equivalent work experience and 6+ years’ experience in the following:

    • 6+ years of related experience that includes experience in requirements elicitation, designing, testing, documenting and/or maintaining/configuration of applications; or using application software in a business setting required.
    • Exhibits strong business knowledge and builds strong customer relationships.
    • Leads small to moderately complex projects.
    • Knowledge of data models and ability to map data end-to-end.
    • Proficient in relational data base tools, including SQL or other query language.
    • Experience with Data Warehousing concepts, a plus.
    • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communications skills – high emotional intelligence.
    • Ability to work with and support cross-functional development teams.
    • High attention to detail and software quality.
    • Experience balancing and prioritizing multiple projects to meet goals, deliverables, and deadlines.
    • Very strong analytical and problem solving skills.
    • Must be self-motivated and take initiative.
    • Experience with TFS, Jira and/or other work management tools, a plus.
