    Specialty Equipment Services specialize in insurance and risk management services to protect a broad range of equipment types. We provide solutions to equipment finance businesses, manufacturers, and distributors as well as organizations that rely on the daily production of operational technology. We make equipment finance faster, easier and more profitable for our clients, helping them use insurance strategically to build business and manage risk.

     

    Job title and grade will depend on the successful applicant’s level of experience.

    Responsibilities

    • Coordinates and administers all aspects of filings with state insurance departments. This may include:
      • Compiling all required information and disseminating/communicating necessary information to others.
      • Submitting filings to the appropriate PDC personnel.
      • Analyzing and responding to objections and inquiries from state regulatory authorities.
      • Requesting new products codes and stat compliance instructions for entry into accounting system.
    • Assists in developing new and revised insurance products, policies and other required forms to ensure compliance with state regulatory and statutory requirements.
    • Resolves and/or assists with researching, documenting, and communicating moderately complex compliance related issues.
    • Monitor pertinent insurance publications to determine impact on line of business from a compliance perspective. This may include:
      • Identifying emerging compliance issues, state regulatory concerns and business unit needs.
      • Developing action plans when appropriate and implement and communicate changes.
    • Utilizes and participates in maintaining systems or procedures to perform filing submissions, research, audits, and other functions relating to compliance with state and federal regulations with may include the following:
      • Completes filing submissions and responses, where appropriate
      • Develops and prepares reports, such as filing status reports and master forms log.
      • Monitors data integrity and facilitates resolution with inconsistencies in the data.
      • Participates in documenting procedure manuals/standard operating procedures.
      • Participates in identifying/researching improvements to procedures and/or systems.
    • Performs miscellaneous tasks, projects and duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
    • Field of Study: Business, Liberal Arts or a related discipline
    • Experience: 6 months to 3 years of related experience. Beginning coursework toward certification in area of expertise preferred; appropriate certifications could include; a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Program in General Insurance (INS), or Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI), Associate Insurance Regulatory Compliance (AIRC), Certified Compliance Professional (CCP), and Associate Compliance Professional (ACP).
    • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational and prioritization skills.
    • Ability to work quickly for time sensitive state submissions and/or objections.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong contract writing, reviewing, and editing skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Ability to manage their workload independently.  Highly self-driven.
    • Insurance designations are a plus.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Visio.
