    The Data Management group within P&C IT specializes in data movement & integration between disparate systems, utilizing a range of technologies including traditional ETL, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) & XML messaging, industry standards-based bulk file transfers (ACORD), and a platform supporting direct data entry into the warehouse.

     

     

    The Data Management BA program is looking for a Supervisor responsible for the on-going delivery and support of our Financial Data Warehouse.   The person who applies for this position should have a unique blend of leadership skills, soft skills, analytical skills, technical skills and agility.  He or she is proactive, dependency-aware and can transition seamlessly between a holistic, enterprise perspective and a critical attention to detail.  The ideal candidate will quickly acquire an in-depth understanding of the business units served and the products it offers, and can facilitate the negotiation between stakeholders and the development team about what to build, while instilling a keen sense of urgency in that delivery.  

    Responsibilities

    • Participates in and oversees a team of Business Analysts involved in the evaluation of system requirements and Production Support for the Financial Data Warehouse and supporting Data Marts.
    • Ensures the completeness of requirements and project plans.
    • Establishes priorities and ensures progress.
    • Evaluates project status and resource utilization and implements changes to improve the team's effectiveness.
    • Has responsibility for performance, development and coaching of staff (i.e. hiring, firing, performance management, salary increases, etc.). Ensures new members of the team / unit receive training.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Ability to orchestrate and coordinate work of others.
    • Ability to set goals for performance and deadlines in ways that comply with company's plans and vision.
    • Ability to be a hands-on Supervisor, performing work of the team when necessary to meet commitments.
    • Advanced levels of analytical, problem-solving, critical-thinking & communication skills.
    • Ability to navigate complex IT organizational structures & the relationships within, negotiate between competing objectives & priorities and help resolve conflicts, while maintaining the integrity of those partnerships.
    • Expert knowledge of reporting tools and databases.
    • Strong skills in relational data base tools, including SQL.
    • Exhibits strong business knowledge of insurance or finance.
    • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to define/lead best practices around process and business analysis tools.
    • Superior ability to self-manage and stay on track with commitments; resourceful in solving problems and removing impediments.
    • Ability to think creatively, champion new ideas and challenge the status quo.
    • Adaptable and effectively cope with rapidly changing business landscape.

     

    Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent work experience.
    • 3+ years demonstrating leadership in prior roles
    • 10 or more years of related experience as IT or Business Analyst that includes researching, testing, documenting and/or maintaining applications or using applications in a business setting
    • Experience in Data Warehousing, Integration, Data Mapping
    • Agile delivery experience, a plus
    • Commercial Insurance experience, preferred
    • Financial experience, preferred
    • Development background, a plus
