In this position a self-motivated individual will develop the knowledge and skills required to adjust workers' compensation claims. This individual will learn to review and evaluate liability, obtain and analyze information necessary to investigate and adjudicate claims, and develop critical thinking skills to help mitigate risk. He or she will become familiar with the statutory requirements and legal and medical concepts that are an important component of the claims environment. This is an excellent career opportunity in a dynamic, interesting field.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills, who has a four-year degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in Business or Liberal Arts, with an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher. A few years of work experience, particularly in an office environment, is required. The candidate should demonstrate: strong negotiation and decision making skills; attention to detail; strong planning and organizing skills; adaptability and flexibility; excellent time management skills and follow through needed to meet multiple deadlines within tight time frames.
