    Responsibilities


    • Designs, plans and implements human resources programs, policies and procedures. This may include management of compliance, employee relations, recruitment and staffing, benefits, training, performance management, compensation, safety and security, workforce planning, organization development and leave management. Ensures programs align with business goals, drive performance, talent readiness and are cost effective.
    • Conducts needs assessments, collaborates with business leadership and researches current trends and best practice to develop and maintain both short-term and long-term goals.
    • Translates the strategic and tactical business plans into HR strategic and operational plans.
    • Partners with leadership to understand current and future workforce needs. Develops and / or improves programs to ensure business needs are met.
    • Develops and controls the functional areas’ human resources budget.
    • Ensures adherence to all company policies and governmental regulations pertaining to the maintenance of record keeping systems and files.
    • Ensures quality of work and services provided.
    • Develops and oversees internal controls to ensure accuracy, timeliness and quality of work.
    • Develops and implements performance metrics for the Human Resources department.
    • Monitors management reports on service levels, activity, customer experience and other work products of employment / recruiting staff.
    • Ensures that effective business relationships with internal and external customers/coworkers are developed and maintained.
    • Identifies and implements methods to improve processes, procedures, customer service and satisfaction.
    • Ensures compliance with all legal requirements of various human resources policies, programs and practices. Maintains expert knowledge of applicable employment law and government programs.
    • Demonstrates broad and comprehensive knowledge on various human resources functions and trends. Provides expert consultation on human resources matters to the management team.
    • Understands, supports, and develops corporate business strategy and the goals of each department designed to meet that strategy. Proactively consults with leadership to identify, develop and execute human resources strategies that support business needs.
    • Plans both short-term and long-term objectives and ensures alignment with business goals. Ensures the unit meets policies / practices, budget and performance targets.
    • Provides tactical leadership and strategic direction to the department.
    • Participates in the development of the organization's plans and programs as a strategic leader, focusing on the impact on people and provides input on the organization’s needs related to talent.
    • Has accountability for performance, development and coaching of staff (i.e. hiring, firing, performance management, salary increases, etc.). Ensures the department has a sufficient number of trained staff to provide necessary levels of service and achieve department performance results.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications


    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Master’s degree preferred.  10-15+ years of related experience, including strategic planning and organizational leadership; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Professional designation preferred; appropriate designations could include Professional in Human Resources (PHR), or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).
