    Responsibilities

    • Prepares highly complex financial and business related analysis and reporting. Defines business and legal reporting requirements through research, interpretation of regulations, and business unit requests to meet customer needs.
      • Prioritizes daily workload and delegates assignments in a manner to ensure accurate and timely completion.
      • Reviews completed assignments.
      • Provides training and technical advice to lower level positions.
    • Effectively utilizes statistical reporting procedures that designate the use of check lists, submission logs, data transmissions, and data receipt confirmations.
    • Collects and analyzes data for validity and accuracy in preparation for assigned reports.
    • Develops and maintains department databases and assesses quality of data used in highly complex reports.
    • Demonstrates expert knowledge of data sources content and structure to assess the quality of data.
      • Identifies and makes recommendations for resolution of identified issues in data and reporting quality.
      • Utilizes department / company software to prepare highly complex data queries.
    • Demonstrates expert knowledge of industry and company products/coverages and applies that knowledge to support business activity.
    • Demonstrates expert knowledge of relevant resource materials and manuals may include: statistical manuals, statistical plans, coding guides, claims, underwriting, and premium audit files.
    • Provides technical advice to lower level associates and other functional areas.
    • Will have responsibility for the performance and coaching of up to 3 direct reports in decisions regarding development, hiring, firing, performance management, pay increases, etc.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
    Field of Study: Business, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science or related discipline
    Experience: 6 or more years of experience in a related role. Proficiency in relational database tools (i.e., SQL, Cognos, etc.). Experience in the medical/healthcare insurance industry and data analytics preferred. May be in the process of obtaining or may have already completed certification in area of expertise; appropriate certifications could include an Associate Insurance Data Manager (AIDM), or a Certified Insurance Data Manager (CIDM), or a Certificate in General Insurance (INS), or Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter.
