    Republic Indemnity is a subsidiary of Great American Insurance Group - we market workers’ compensation insurance to a variety of clients primarily in California, as well as other states.  This in-house position is in our San Francisco office, located in the heart of the City’s financial district.  The qualified candidate will demonstrate strong math skills; attention to detail; strong planning and organizing skills; adaptability and flexibility; excellent time management skills; and the ability to meet multiple deadlines within tight timeframes.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Reviews physical audits completed by field auditors. Examines / audits current rules, mathematical computations and adherence to company format and procedures in order to ensure that calculations of earned premium for risks are accurate.
    • Reviews insureds' payroll statements for accuracy to develop premium basis and to ensure proper application of current rules.
    • Reviews Underwriting, Loss Control reports, Bureau inspections and, potentially, claims data to ensure proper audit findings.
    • Communicates with producers, insureds and company personnel to resolve questions. Interprets and explains methods to complete various paperwork, notifies of changes and may participate in explaining / interpreting results.
    • Reviews midterm endorsements and determines necessary actions for updating file, billings or renewals. Refers questionable audits to more senior / experienced staff.
    • Reviews delinquent reports on policies to estimate an interim, final and / or cancellation.
    • Reviews and prepares materials for test audit programs for various states.
    • Reviews Unit Stat Exceptions Report and reports correction / revisions to appropriate Bureau and / or departments within the company.
    • Maintains fundamental knowledge of rules and regulations applicable to jurisdictions and ensures correct and consistent application.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Education: Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience.
    Field of Study: Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline.
    Experience: 2 to 5 years of related experience. Associates in Premium Audit Program (APA) certification preferred.
