Responsibilities

  • A facilitator to all aspects of the team’s planning and prioritization process. Responsible for facilitating backlog grooming, sprint planning, retrospectives, daily scrum, and sprint reviews.
  • Servant Leadership: Able to limit ego and the "desire to control", so that the team can self-form and self-direct its own sprint execution.
  • Removes roadblocks that are impeding the team and individuals. Advocates for the team and personally tries to remove impediments or seeks helps from outside the team.
  • Monitors and supports a scrum team through continuous improvement of agile execution.
  • Facilitates the Definition of Ready and Definition of Done criteria for all stories.
  • Develop relationships with internal and external customers and teams.
  • Ensures that sprint results and team performance is communicated accurately.
  • Team Building: Fosters an environment where individuals recognize and value the importance of team success. Helps team members improve individual performance in support of team goals. Effectively cooperates with Product Owner and Technical Leader in a balance of influence — to create an environment in which the team can increase productivity, quality, and predictability.
  • Coaching: Coaches the team on agile and scrum principles. Able to observe team dynamics, recognize strengths and weaknesses of individual team member's contributions, and coach them to improve. Suggest new metrics for the team as a catalyst for change and improvement Continuous learning – learns from, shares best practices with Scrum Master on other teams, and works with other Agile leaders.

Qualifications

  • Must have expertise as an Agile Scrum Master
  • Outstanding leadership and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with a high attention to detail
  • Experience in agile software development environment leading scrum teams
  • Scrum Master certification is highly desired
  • Experience with JIRA or similar Agile execution and reporting tools is required
