Dempsey & Siders Agency, Inc. is seeking a Personal Lines Assistant / Associate Account Representative. Dempsey & Siders is the first insurance affiliate of American Financial Group, the parent company of Great American Insurance Group.   • Develops in-depth product and industry knowledge.
  • Becomes familiar with policies and procedures, as well as the business and organization. Complies with company and regulatory guidelines.
  • Becomes familiar with and utilizes computerized systems for tracking, documenting questions / responses, information gathering and / or troubleshooting.
  • Processes agency downloads - Reviews customer information provided from external insurance companies and through policy download
  • Builds relationships and favorable contacts with current Personal Line accounts.
  • Learns to interact with customers to provide information in response to routine inquiries (telephone, email, mail, etc.) about products or services. Refers non-routine / more complex issues to more experienced staff.
  • May help manage social media calendar, and help to develop original content via blog posts and social media posts.

    Answers agency phones calls and relays calls to appropriate staff members.

    Provide assistance to office support – orders office supplies, balances petty cash, etc.

  • (Once Licensed) Develops skills and actively seeks information to understand customer’s circumstances, problems, expectations and needs for the purpose of providing all the appropriate coverages, correct quotes and placed with the appropriate insurer. Shares and / or conveys information to customers, regarding their account(s) maintaining a professional demeanor in all situations.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 0 to 3 years of experience.
  • Training provided to obtain Insurance P&C Agency licensure within 6 months.
  • Performs work under close supervision. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Develops working knowledge of company products and / or services and business systems used to perform job functions. Works within narrowly defined limits and authority on assignments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
