Responsibilities

  • Supervises daily activities of claims processing and payment functions.
  • Establishes work procedures and standards. Evaluates work methods and implements new procedures and operations.
  • Maintains various reports and management controls. Verifies statistical coverage information, as requested. Provides status report on Processing unit(s) to Claims Manager, as requested.
  • Coordinates the work activities of the unit. Responsible for day-to-day work and procedures. Assigns and checks work. Monitors and controls quality, productivity and workflow.
  • Responsible for performance, development and coaching of staff (i.e., hiring, firing, performance management, salary increases, etc.).
  • Provides technical guidance to staff. Maintains high-level system(s) knowledge sufficient to instruct staff on automated system(s) and processing workflows.
  • Identifies operational and / or potential systemic problems; identifies root causes and ensures that solutions are implemented promptly.
  • Participates in developing unit objectives and in meeting performance targets.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2 to 4 years of related experience; exhibits leadership qualities.
