Financial Analysis is a department within the Financial Division that is responsible for the financial model that executive management utilizes to forecast metrics such as earnings, cash flow and capital requirements, the return on equity calculation that assesses returns for each of the strategic business units, the administration of the annual budget and plan process and the flow of information to and from the rating agencies of S&P, AM Best and Moody’s. 

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and assists business units with the annual budget and plan processes.
    • Prepares budget and planning system for annual/quarterly budgets, maintains user access and works to address questions and ensure timely submission.
    • Reviews information for accuracy and consistency
  • Administers and utilizes the AM Best databases to provide reporting to business units and management as needed.
  • Prepares quarterly bank fee analysis.
  • Prepares various monthly journal entries.
  • Works in conjunction with others to research companies and products for acquisition opportunities.
  • Completes surveys and provides additional information as needed to the rating agencies.
  • Completes surveys for US Census Bureau.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required.
  • 2-6 years of experience in accounting or finance.
  • Public accounting experience is preferred.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • System knowledge of PeopleSoft, SNL database and Oracle’s Planning Budgeting Cloud Solution.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, customer service and communication skills.
