American Financial Group is currently seeking a Part-Time Security Officer. 

Responsibilities

  • Inspects, monitors, controls and guards premises, property and / or assigned people against damage, fire, theft, trespassing and illegal entry.  Provides physical security through presence and observation.
    • Provides executive transportation / security escorts.
    • Provides ground safety and security on behalf of the Flight Department.
    • May participate on Executive Protection details.
  • Makes routine tours around buildings and grounds, examining doors, windows and gates to ensure that they are properly secured.  Observes and audits to ensure security requirements are met.  Reports atypical situations to management.
  • Ensures identification of employees or visitors by monitoring traffic flow, reviewing recording devices, interviewing unfamiliar persons and validating badges.
  • Investigates disturbances and, in the event of an emergency, maintains order and safety of personnel.
  • Collects and completes paperwork, including incident logs and daily activity logs.
  • Identifies, assesses and resolves activities, situations or conditions that could expose company assets (physical property, intellectual property, executives, employees, etc.) to potential harm.
  • May serve as a liaison with police or other emergency response personnel.
  • Maintains a valid firearms license and carries a firearm at all times when on duty.
  • Serves as a first responder and maintains Automated External Defibrillator (AED), Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid Certifications.
  • May assume command and control of security operational responsibilities during an incident and in the absence of higher level staff or management.
  • May provide technical guidance, assistance and training to lower level positions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2 to 6 years of related experience. Maintains certifications for AED / CPR and First Aid.  May be required to complete annual firearms qualification.
