The Environmental Division of the Great American Insurance Group provides a comprehensive portfolio of environmental insurance products to a broad array of industries.  All products can be customized to address the specific risks and exposures of the client. 


We are currently seeking a Divisional Vice President focusing on our services product line.  The Environmental Division is based out of Exton, PA.  We would also consider this position being based out of our New York City regional office.


  • Manages and updates strategic plans, participates in the annual business planning process and assists in determining overall strategy within the assigned product line.
  • Maintains/updates underwriting guidelines within the assigned product line.
  • Provides guidance to underwriters on specific accounts within the assigned product line.
  • Assists with product development within the assigned product line.
  • Coordinates determination of target pricing and required underwriting information within the assigned product line.
  • Assists with presentations to prospective clients within the assigned product line.
    • Underwrites and maintains a book complex accounts working with key brokers and underwriters throughout the country within the assigned product line.
  • Provides input to claims attorneys on specific accounts within the assigned product line.
  • May lead or participate in program reviews and audits (i.e. compliance audits, rate/pricing reviews, and agency reviews.)
  • Reviews and assists in design of procedures, service manuals, and product materials related to specific product line.
  • Assists in the development of training and communication materials and provides training as necessary for the staff within the assigned product line.
  • Lead resource in the Business Unit for the assigned product line.
  • Participates in reinsurance meetings and audits
  • Provides leadership and strategic direct to the unit for the assigned product line.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Field of Study: Consulting or Engineering related to product line
  • Experience: 15 or more years of related experience, including 10 or more years of prior underwriting experience with the product line.

Scope of Job: Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. May develop policy and practices to be used throughout the division. Has clear and distinct accountability for the performance results of the product line.
