The Business Technology Analyst will assist in development and implementation of business rules that lead to accurate and timely automation of reinsurance cession for losses utilizing the Universal Reinsurance System. The Business Technology Analyst will work under the guidance of the Business Technology Analysis Manager in the Automation Reinsurance Team (ART).


  • Work with the business to plan, coordinate, and deliver reinsurance automation:
    • Determine options for automation
    • Follows through on schedules as laid out by leadership.
    • Understand and articulate the capabilities and limitations of data sources as well as the automation tool.
  • Critically evaluate the entry of others in an effort to eliminate entry errors.
  • Create a testing plan and verify results of automation efforts using SQL or Cognos.
  • Maintain strong relationships throughout the business and information technology.
  • Identify and suggest improvements in current processes.



  • Insurance industry experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent business experience.
  • Experience programming in SQL or similar language preferred



  • Aptitude for technology.
  • Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain courteous, professional, and effective working relationships with department staff, other company employees, and contacts outside the company.
  • Ability to organize and plan work to satisfy established timeframes.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and take initiative.
  • Ability to perform work under minimal supervision.
