Corporate Claims is responsible for quality control management and technical oversight of all operations and assuring compliance with claims policies and philosophies.  Corporate Claims participates in management of complex, high impact claims and claims issues that pose a potential risk to the corporation.  The Reinsurance Claims Department in Corporate Claims handles assumed reinsurance claims plus the reporting and billing of ceded reinsurance claims.

 

Our Corporate Claims division is currently seeking a Litigation Services Specialist I in our downtown Cincinnati office.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and analyzes law firm invoices for compliance with the Company guidelines.
  • Checks invoices for time and billing errors.
  • Participates in determining if invoices are reasonable for the legal work performed.
  • Enters edits into the system and finalizes coded invoices where no additional information is need from the law firm.
  • Serves as point of communication for both law firms and business units regarding questioned line entries. Answers questions and inquiries from the law firms. May participate in conference calls with law firms to review results of bill reviews.
  • Performs intake work on law firm invoices into the bill review software.
  • Makes decisions within authority to finalize and approve for payment assigned invoices.
  • Generates reports from the bill review software, such as pending invoices, approved / paid, etc.
  • May prepare and document negotiated billing agreements with law firms.
  • Maintains department filing and record keeping systems.
  • Develops working knowledge of guidelines and standards for outside attorneys.
  • Assists with special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • All candidates must have a Paralegal Certificate. A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent is preferred.
  • 6 months to 2 years of paralegal work in a law firm and/or bill review experience.
  • Above average communication and analysis skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience in Litigation Advisor or comparable bill review software preferred
